4)HOME VISIT- Ann and/or a Thunder Puppy representative will visit your home to ensure that the dog's future environment is safe and secure, and that all previously discussed requirements are met and true. In some cases, (not all) the dog will be present at the Home Visit as well, so as to gauge his or her reaction to the surroundings. Following the Home Visit, a decision will be made within a 48 hour time frame concerning moving forward with this process. In extremely special circumstances, the dog may be allowed to stay with the family to begin the Foster Period.
3) MEET AND GREET- You will be asked to come visit the dog at the kennels in Golden. It is best that all family members, roommates, or anyone who will have consistent contact or responsibly for the dog, attend. Other existing household dogs are required to visit as well. Meet and Greets are by appointment only, made by phone, and generally set for mid-mornings. Special considerations are sometimes applicable. If the meeting goes well, we will schedule a Home Visit.
Once a Thunder Puppy Pack Member has been rescued, rehabilitated and "paid it forward" to his or her fellow canines, he or she is made available for adoption and is ready to rehome! Thunder Puppy prides itself in finding these dogs the BEST homes available. We love to stay in the dog's life long-term via support, training, updates, pictures and videos. We become extremely attached and invested in these beautiful animals and feel that it is essential that the new guardian is given all the information and education to follow through with what the dog has benefited from his/her experience here at Thunder Puppy K9 R&R.
A great benefit of adopting a Thunder Puppy Pack Member is that you always know exactly what you are “getting” before you bring him/her home- an already well- educated dog with added individual instruction to ease the transition.
You are also doing service by freeing up a spot in The Pack, so more dogs in need of this exclusive type of assistance can be admitted.
Please read their bios and enjoy their adorable pictures- let TPK9RR help YOU find your Perfect Pet!
1)APPLICATION- If you are interested in any of our special Thunder Puppies, please click here on our This form is NOT interactive. You will NEED TO PRINT or DOWNLOAD this application to fill it out. Please write legibly and in large PRINT rather than cursive.
5)FOSTER PERIOD- The Foster Period is two weeks. You will be required to sign a Foster Care Agreement that holds you legally liable and responsible for our dog. We have implemented this Foster Care Program for the best interest of our animals and is intended to make absolutely sure that you and our Thunder Puppy are a good fit. During this time, you will be asked to stay in contact with TPK9RR via email, phone calls and pictures. We will be available to answer any questions or concerns that may arise and give you support. If a situation occurs that makes you believe it is not the right decision for you or your family, the Foster Period can be immediately terminated and the dog returned. In most cases however, this is a bonding period for you and your potential new pet and hopefully you are falling in love...
2) EMAIL- Once you have completed the form by answering every question EMAIL it to firstname.lastname@example.org . Once you have submitted your application, you may wait to hear from us or call Ann @303.898.4238 to let us know of your intent and interest. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for our reply.
